A manufacturer of various geosynthetics used for civil engineering projects such as vertical and horizontal drains for soft ground improvement and geogrids for reinforced retaining walls, DAEHAN i. m., received the KGSS Award in the technical innovation category with its new products – high efficiency Hori-Drain for soft ground improvement and Wing Hori-Drain – at the 2019 Korean Geosynthetics Society’s spring academic conference and regular congress on March 21, 2019.

With this award in technical innovation, DAEHAN i. m. consolidated its position as the leading geosynthetics manufacturer at home and abroad. The Wing Hori- Drain®, an upgrade of Hori-Drain, allows a vertical drain to be directly inserted into water channels of the horizontal drain, dramatically enhancing the rate of water catchment and drainage in soft ground. In pilot testing, the new product captured over 95% of water, attracting favorable responses from experts.
